How To Create Consistency In Your Personal Brand

I talk about consistency a great deal to my clients, entrepreneur friends and community.  Consistency is a very powerful word. The dictionary states it as “steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form or an agreement, harmony, or compatibility, especially correspondence uniformity among the parts of a complex thing.”

Developing consistency in your personal brand would be, what I’d call “a complex thing”!  Let’s talk about how to create consistency in your personal brand.

Maintaining a consistent brand helps increase the overall value of your company by reinforcing your position in the marketplace.  As you establish a stronger presence, you will attract more of your target customers with higher retention rates.  All of which will raise the perceived value of your products or services.

As opposed to not having a consistent presence, behavior or brand story will often confuse your audience and may lead them to move on because they quite simply don’t know what you offer or stand for.

Listen to my Periscope where I shared Tips to help you stay Consistent:

Be your Personal Brand or Be Branded

I’ve said this before, and I’m sure I will say it again… You are your brand.  Your brand is what other’s perception of you.  So in order to make a great first impression in their minds, you have to consistently share your brand story.

Your brand should incorporate YOU, your brand message, your goals and accomplishments.  It should speak with your purpose to those you wish to serve.

Consistency in Your Brand Message

A consistent brand message should clearly define your positioning and align with your core behaviors. As your authentic behavior is consistently aligned with your message, more clients will begin to trust you and want to work with you and will share your services and offerings.

  • Ask yourself, is my brand messages consistent?
  • Are people unsure of who I am and what I offer?

Create Your Brand Style

Your personal brand style is essentially your brand personality.  Be you and share YOUR personality!  Whether you are shy, extroverted or quirky, let your brand style shine!  People want to work with people.  The more authentically you stay to your personality the easier it will be for your desired audience to get to know, like and trust you:)

I talk about branding and share many tips, tools, and strategies.  You can go over here to read much more🙂

“It’s important to build a personal brand because it’s the only thing you’re going to have. Your reputation online, and in the new business world is pretty much the game, so you’ve got to be a good person. You can’t hide anything, and more importantly, you’ve got to be out there at some level.” Gary Vaynerchuk

I love to share and meet other entrepreneurs.  Live Streaming is a new social media, where you can be live on video or watch others on their video broadcast.  These two places are Periscope and Blab.

I am consistently sharing tips Monday-Friday on Periscope.  Blab is a new platform that I’m loving being on where I’m meeting people all over the world. So when I asked my online friends to join me on a Blab, they all said yes and now a weekly Blab show was born on Friday’s!

I hope by sharing tips about consistency in your personal brand and business will help you on your journey.  If you have any questions, let me know over on Twitter or Facebook!
